Introductions
When we were looking for DJs, one of the guys that we met with said that he could use a different song for each wedding party member. I liked this idea and thought it would be cool to have the pairs of our wedding party come into the reception to a song with their color in it. Here's the list:
Bride's Parents: Colour My World by Chicago
Groom's Parents: The Rainbow Connection by Weezer & Hayley Williams
Cole & Olivia: Pink Cadillac by Natalie Cole
Devon & Hannah: Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix
Rich & Nicole: Blue Suede Shoes by Elvis
Lars & Shannon: Green Light by John Legend
Nick & Cristina: Mellow Yellow by Donovan
Ryan & Jessica: Orange Colored Sky by Nat "King" Cole
Nick & Juliana: Little Red Corvette by Prince
Bride & Groom: Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole

Tables
My aunt had a sweetheart table at her wedding and had her wedding party sit with their friends and family. I really liked that idea and decided to do the same thing. I want to be able to spend a little time with Matt since the entire night will involve us interacting with all of our guests. This also allows our wedding party to sit with their friends, family, and/or dates.
Escort Cards & Table Numbers
I saw a great idea on the Knot for escort cards. Actually, I saw several ideas
and have decided to combine them for our wedding. First, I'm only writing the table
number on the actual escort cards. The names (we're doing one escort card per invitation) will be on an envelope. That way it's easier to make last-minute changes to the seating arrangements. Lastly, I was trying to find something special to do for the table numbers. I went through several ideas (all based on the Knot) and came to a solution with Matt. We numbered our tables and then added a quote about love from either a movie or a book. (I love reading and Matt is constantly quoting movies.) I made the signs in Powerpoint and had them printed at Staples. We bought frames to put the table numbers in on each table as well as a picture of us on the other side.

Centerpieces
Matt and I have added on to our original centerpiece idea! We are doing four different types of centerpieces (and we managed to keep it at the same price as the original)! Here is a list of the different centerpieces:
1. low bowls with black gems in the bottom and round silver floating candles
2. globe vases with black glitter sand and a silver ball candle
3. square vase with silver diamonds and a white square floating candle
4. cylinder vase with fake silver rocks and three round white candles
And for our sweetheart table, we'll have a centerpiece similar to the first idea but we will have a mixture of black and white gems and silver and white floating rose candles!

Favors
For favors, Matt and I wanted to do something that would fit in with the rainbow part of the wedding theme. So we bought 5 pound bags of M&Ms as well as 7 ounce bags of purple and pink M&Ms. My mother, bridesmaids, and I will pick out the brown candies (lucky us) and put the remaining ones in small plastic boxes. The boxes will be wrapped in patterned tape and topped with a sticker from Vistaprint.

Toasting Flutes
I absolutely LOVE Mikasa's Love Story china. (I have it on our registry for fine china.) Although I'm sure the Biltmore provides toasting flutes, I really want to use ones that I can keep and display after the ceremony. Thanks to my parents for buying these for us for Christmas!
Menu
The Biltmore has onsite catering that is absolutely amazing! We have a tasting in February, but we have been looking at the potential menu since we booked the reception.

We've also come up with a creative way to display the menus on the tables. Click here to see how they were made!

Cake Serving Set
This set is also part of Mikasa's Love Story collection and, obviously, goes perfectly with the toasting flutes. Thanks to Matt's parents for buying this for us for our engagement!
Cake
My friend, Justin, went to school for pastry and cake making and he was ecstatic
to be asked to do our cake! I want a small cake, just for the ceremonial cutting and saving the top for our one year anniversary.

Guestbook
I found a guestbook on Organize.com that I really loved, but then I saw some brides making a photobook with spaces for guests to sign. I have decided that I want to combine the two ideas by creating a photobook with spaces for envelopes like the original guestbook. It makes it more personal as well as cheaper (I have a voucher for a free 20-page photobook and I'm using Vistaprint for the cards)!

Card Box
Of course I have changed my mind about the card box as I have done with everything else! There are so many great ideas out there and I really love the DIY card boxes I've seen on other planning sites and the Knot. I'm so happy with how it turned out!
